Aerothermal installation in Malaga

Aerotermia

In Instalaciones Carabantes we are experts in aerothermal installation in Malaga. If you live on the Costa del Sol or in inland towns such as Coín, Alhaurín, Pizarra or Alozaina, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We will go to the place where you wish to carry out the installation to carry out an initial assessment and take the necessary measurements, so that we can then prepare a personalised quote.

Among the projects we carry out most frequently is the installation of aerothermal energy in single-family houses. Whether they are grid-connected homes or even country houses with off-grid self-consumption installations. In the latter case, it is advisable to have energy accumulators, as aerothermal energy is most efficient when it operates continuously, day and night.

If you are interested in such an installation in your home or business, you will certainly want to know the price. As with any air conditioning installation, the cost and calculation can vary significantly depending on a number of factors. Below we explain the key aspects, if you would like an approximate price please contact us.

Price of an aerothermal installation

In these five points we summarise how we calculate the cost and benefits of an aerothermal installation that suits your heating and cooling needs.

  1. Characteristics of the dwelling: The first step is to carry out a full assessment of the dwelling to determine how much energy is needed for heating and cooling. This includes looking at the size of the house, its orientation, insulation, windows and doors, and other factors that affect energy efficiency.
  2. Choice of the aerothermal system: There are different types of aerothermal systems, such as air-to-air heat pumps and air-to-water heat pumps. The choice of system will depend on the specific needs of the house and the energy efficiency targets.
  3. Installation costs: Taking into account the above data, here we determine both the aerothermal equipment and the installation fees and materials needed to make the project a reality.
  4. Incentives and subsidies: If there is a subsidy programme to encourage the adoption of renewable energy systems, such as aerothermal energy, we can help you with the procedures. These programmes can significantly reduce the cost of installation.
  5. Operational costs and long-term savings: We are aware that this type of installation requires a higher investment compared to other technologies, so it is important to consider the long-term operational costs as well. Because of their energy efficiency, you will probably be surprised at the savings in heating and cooling costs over the years.

The price of an aerothermal installation varies quite a lot, even if the square metres are the same, it is not the same to work on a new building as it is for a home renovation.

Why is it considered a renewable energy?

If you are asked about renewable energy, you are likely to think of solar, wind or hydroelectric power. Some have heard of geothermal energy, which harnesses the heat of the earth, but few have heard of aerothermal energy, which harnesses energy from the air.

Aerothermal energy is considered a renewable energy because it takes advantage of an inexhaustible source of energy, which is the air that surrounds us. Air is always available in our atmosphere and is not depleted by use. This is the main difference with other non-renewable energy sources such as oil and natural gas.

In addition, aerothermal energy does not require the burning of fossil fuels to generate heat or cooling. Instead, it uses a thermodynamic cycle based on heat exchange with the air to obtain the necessary energy. By avoiding the use of fossil fuels, aerothermal energy also contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution.

How aerothermics works

In case you are not clear about how aerothermal energy works, we are going to explain it in a simple way.

This technology exploits the heat exchange between a refrigerant gas and the outside air to produce cooling or heating. Its operation requires little electrical power, mainly to run the compressor. In fact, it can be powered by other renewable energy that produces electricity, such as an installation of solar photovoltaic panels.

The fan heater can generate cooling to cool rooms, heat to heat a radiator or underfloor heating, as well as domestic hot water. In other words, it covers all the air conditioning and hot water needs of your home.

The interesting thing is that aerothermal energy does not generate heat or cold by itself, it simply transfers thermal energy from the outside air to the inside air or vice versa. It does this thanks to the property of certain gases that can absorb and release heat when compressed and expanded.

In winter, the aerothermal system takes air from outside, even if it is cold, and passes it through an evaporator. This evaporator contains a refrigerant liquid which is in a gaseous state at low temperature (lower than outside air). When cold air comes into contact with the refrigerant, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the air and becomes a hot gas.

This hot gas is then compressed through a heat pump, and in doing so, its temperature is further increased. This hot gas is used to heat the water that circulates through the radiators or underfloor heating in your home, providing heating.

In summer, the system can be reversed for cooling. The air inside your home is extracted and passed through the evaporator, where the coolant absorbs the heat from the warm air. The refrigerant is then compressed and releases that heat outside your home. The cooled air is returned to the interior to maintain a comfortable temperature.

More questions about aerothermics

Where is the fan heater placed?

It is important to install the air source heat pump in an open and suitable area to ensure proper operation. You should avoid placing the heat pump in enclosed spaces, such as a basement, as the fan heater would continuously recycle the same air in that enclosed space and would be less efficient.

How long does it take to heat a house with aerothermal energy?

The time it takes for an aerothermal system to heat a house varies depending on the size, insulation and climatic conditions. It can usually start to provide heat within minutes, but the total time to heat the whole house can take several hours, so it is desirable that these systems operate continuously and maintain a stable temperature throughout the year.

How long does an aerothermal machine last?

The aerothermal machine lasts between 15 and 20 years with proper maintenance. The best brands produce robust devices that require little maintenance and are very resistant to outdoor use.
